Travel InfoTravel Documents (Visa)Every traveller must be in possession of valid passport with a Myanmar Entry Visa. Myanmar Embassies/Consulates abroad issue two types of visa for tourists: the "FIT (Foreign Independent Traveller) Visa" and the "Package Tour Visa". Both are valid for 28-day. Visa on arrival is granted on prior arrangement. CustomsThere is no limit to the amount of foreign currency which may be brought into Myanmar but the amount exceeds US$ 2000 must be declared to the custom upon entry. Jewelries, electrical goods and cameras should be declared at the airport. Antiques and archaeologically valuable items are strictly prohibited to be taken out. CurrencyThe unit of currency is the Kyat and currency notes are issued in dominations of Ks 1000, Ks 500, Ks 200, Ks 100, Ks 50, Ks 20, Ks 15, Ks 10, Ks 5, & Ks 1. ClimateThere is three general seasons in Myanmar. The hot season runs from mid-February to mid-May; the rainy season (monsoon) from mid-May to mid-October; and the dry, cool season from mid-October to mid-February. HealthIf the travelers are not coming from an infected area, no vaccination certificate is required. ReligionAbout 89.4% of population - mainly Bamar, Shan, Mon, Rakhine and some Kayin are Buddhists. The rest are Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Animates. Christian population is composed mainly of Kayin, Kachin and Chin. International AirlinesMyanmar is served internationally by Myanmar Airways International, Thai Airways International, Silk Air, Air China, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Pakistan Airlines, All Nippon Airlways and Malaysian Airlines. Air Mandalay links Yangon and Mandalay with Chaing Mai, Thailand. Internal TransportationThe main cities of Myanmar are linked with each other and the other parts of the country by Myanma Airways (UB), Air Mandalay (6T) and Yangon Airways (HK) flights. There are also extensive railroad, waterways and bus services. The boat trip downriver from Mandalay to Bagan is popular. Airport Departure TaxCurrently the Yangon International Airport departure tax is US$ or FEC 10 per person. Refund of Unused ServicesAfter commencement of travel, all services as included in the programmed but not utilized by clients are non-refundable either in full or in part. ResponsibilitiesMinami Tours Co., Ltd. and/or their agents act only as agents for the passenger in regard to travel whether by railroad, motorcar, motor-coach, boat, airplane or any other means of transport and assume no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever or through irregularities which may be caused through willful or negligent acts or omission on the part of the organizations or individuals providing or engaged in transportation, accommodations, or other services relative to the execution of the tour or through natural calamities and other factors beyond their control. They can accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to accident, delay or changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strike, or other causes. |
