Travel Documents (Visa)
Every traveller must be in possession of valid passport with a Myanmar Entry Visa. Myanmar Embassies/Consulates abroad issue two types of visa for tourists: the "FIT (Foreign Independent Traveller) Visa" and the "Package Tour Visa". Both are valid for 28-day. Visa on arrival is granted on prior arrangement.
Customs
There is no limit to the amount of foreign currency which may be brought into Myanmar but the amount exceeds US$ 2000 must be declared to the custom upon entry. Jewelries, electrical goods and cameras should be declared at the airport. Antiques and archaeologically valuable items are strictly prohibited to be taken out.
Two bottles of liquor; two cartons of cigarettes; 100 cigars; 1.5 lb of tobacco; and one pint bottle of perfume are allowed duty free.
Currency
The unit of currency is the Kyat and currency notes are issued in dominations of Ks 1000, Ks 500, Ks 200, Ks 100, Ks 50, Ks 20, Ks 15, Ks 10, Ks 5, & Ks 1.
Foreign Exchange Certifaicates (FECs) are widely accepted at most hotels, airlines, restaurants and shops.
Travellers are not allowed to bring in or take out of Kyats and FECs.
Climate
There is three general seasons in Myanmar. The hot season runs from mid-February to mid-May; the rainy season (monsoon) from mid-May to mid-October; and the dry, cool season from mid-October to mid-February.
Light clothing is recommended all year round. A light sweater will be useful during the cool season (November to February in Yangon) and a heavy sweater need when traveling to the northern and hilly areas. An umbrella is useful from mid-May to mid-October, the rainy season.
Health
If the travelers are not coming from an infected area, no vaccination certificate is required.
Religion
About 89.4% of population - mainly Bamar, Shan, Mon, Rakhine and some Kayin are Buddhists. The rest are Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Animates. Christian population is composed mainly of Kayin, Kachin and Chin.
International Airlines
Myanmar is served internationally by Myanmar Airways International, Thai Airways International, Silk Air, Air China, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Pakistan Airlines, All Nippon Airlways and Malaysian Airlines. Air Mandalay links Yangon and Mandalay with Chaing Mai, Thailand.
Internal Transportation
The main cities of Myanmar are linked with each other and the other parts of the country by Myanma Airways (UB), Air Mandalay (6T) and Yangon Airways (HK) flights. There are also extensive railroad, waterways and bus services. The boat trip downriver from Mandalay to Bagan is popular.
Airport Departure Tax
Currently the Yangon International Airport departure tax is US$ or FEC 10 per person.

The "FIT Visa" holders are obliged to exchange US$ 200 to 200 FEC (Foreign Exchange Certificate) on arrival compulsory. The FEC can only be used within this country. Travelers who purchased Package Tour from a Travel Agency are eligible for "Package Tour Visa" and no need to exchange the
FEC.
Accommodation
Accommodation is on twin sharing basis. Tourist who would like to put up at single occupancy should be paid supplementary charge.
Internal Transportation
All internal transportations will be used Air Mandalay, Yangon Airways & Myanma Airways (for Air Travels); air-conditioned cars or buses (for Road Journeys); & Coaches with reclining seats (for Rail Journeys).
Price
All prices are quoted in US Dollars and are subject to change without prior notice. Prices include meeting& transfers, accommodation on full pension, sightseeing & excursion, internal transportation within the country, porterage for two pieces per person, & guide services.
Payment
A deposit of 50% of the tour prices is requires to be made at least one month ahead of tour arrive at Myanmar. And the balance will be collect on arrival. Payment can be made by Telegraphic/Telex transfer to Myanma Investment & Commercial Bank (MICB); Add: No. 526/532, Merchant Street, Yangon, Myanmar. Services shall not be given unless remittance reaches us prior to the arrival of the clients.
Cancellation
Cancellation takes effect from the day on which the written notice is received.
Cancellation fees are as follows:-
45 days prior to arrival Nil
44 to 21 days prior to arrival 25% of the tour cost
22 to 7 days prior to arrival 50% of the tour cost
Less than 7 days prior to arrival 75% of the tour cost
Group Discount
Tour Leader of a group of 15 members will be given a 50% discount on rooms, transfers and tours.
Every 16th member of a group will be given complementary subject to a maximum limit of 3 members.
Refund of Unused Services
After commencement of travel, all services as included in the programmed but not utilized by clients are non-refundable either in full or in part.
Responsibilities
Minami Tours Co., Ltd. and/or their agents act only as agents for the passenger in regard to travel whether by railroad, motorcar, motor-coach, boat, airplane or any other means of transport and assume no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever or through irregularities which may be caused through willful or negligent acts or omission on the part of the organizations or individuals providing or engaged in transportation, accommodations, or other services relative to the execution of the tour or through natural calamities and other factors beyond their control. They can accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to accident, delay or changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strike, or other causes.
Minami Tours Co., Ltd. also reserves the right to modify or reverse the original programme in the interest of the clients. Minami Tours Co., Ltd. may substitute flights with train/coach services when deemed necessary due to circumstances unforeseen or beyond its control. However, Minima Tours Co., Ltd. will always make full endeavours to keep up the original tour programme and arrangements.
